Johnny Depp's neighbor, who has been a friend for a long time, admitted that his former wife, Amber Heard had said Depp hit her then threw a cell phone at her and beat her up at his Los Angeles penthouse where the couple lived. Isaac Baruch testified that Heard wasn't abused by Depp or his wife, regardless of whether they got together in the hallway of the Art Deco building or at the lobby the following day. Baruch is the second witness who is being questioned in the case of Depp's accusations that Heard has portrayed him in a false way as someone who was a domestic abuser. Depp asserts that an opinion article Heard wrote for The Washington Post in 2018 directly criticized him. Heard says she is "a public figure who is a symbol of domestic violence" in the piece, however, she does not mention Depp. His lawyers say they are referring to restraining decrees that Heard got in the month of May, just after Depp was reported to her as saying that he wanted divorce.
