When I had a baby with me, and other babies within the cradle worked 12 hours a day grinding floors and cutting off wallpaper. Ha! The home was starting to look good, but there was a lot left. In this undertaking, I was prepared to spend a considerable amount of time and money shopping for my dream home. To stay on budget I began going to estate sales with my three boys searching for jewels in the rough. Our routine for the week was to spend Thursday-Saturday walking through estate sales and garage sales to purchase a mix of vintage and modern pieces, and then I would spend the weekdays painting sanding in the driveway. The look was a little similar to this... Here is the place where my passion for the restoration of antique furniture began. After our home was finished, I didn't want to put it down! At the local market, I rented a small space, and also sold items. Eventually I had more pieces that I knew about and outgrew the area. I started having open houses at my house that saw more than 1 000 visitors could visit in one weekend, and purchase anything they wanted on the ground floor. It was here that my business Growing Days was born. Growing Days was more than an incredibly successful business, but it was also a loving family. As a young mom I was able to find the perfect equilibrium to start my own business and also being a decent mother. Growing Days just seemed to fit. It was in 2013 when my sweet daughter Nora was born. She is our fourth baby. It was a great direction for my company, but I also needed some time off. I took some time away from vintage furniture to spend some quality time with my kids. That was exactly what i wanted. In the course of a few months, the phone began to start to. I started receiving requests from people requesting to help with their home improvement and design of interiors. The majority of them were the ones who had strolled through my house during open houses for furniture! The time flew by before I had a fully-fledged house renovation business. The first step was to take clients one by one in a manner that I was comfortable with. When you first spoke to me about my home renovation business I was astonished. It's funny to think back about it.
