Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was the first person to reach a flawless 10 during an Olympic occasion. Bela Karolyi was later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci as she was only seven years old. At first, she competed in the national junior championships in Romania in 1969, she was 13th. And in 1970, won. She won three golds in her very first contest, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972 that was held by communist countries. Between 1973 and 1974, she became the junior champion in all-round competitions. In her first international competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning 4 gold and one silver medal. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first female to do a reverse double salto, which is a dismount from the uneven parallel bars. When she was in her teens, she began performing in touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6, 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol ventured into the entertainment industry in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating shows.
