Her birth date is March 29, 1985, in Roswell, New Mexico. Gerina Michelle Mendoza has been her birth name. Gerina Stevenson's parents were Mexican Alan Stevenson & Rita Stevenson. The mother of two is a Mexican by blood but an American nation by birth. Since she was a child she's always had a strong interest in playing activities. Gerina began golfing when she was fifteen years old. Gerina graduated from high school in Goddard High School. The school won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament during her time in high school. She was a volleyball player and also competed in state competitions. In the year 2003 she was enrolled in the University of Texas. In her senior year she took home the top prize in every competition which she participated in. In her undergraduate professional career, she took home the Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year award and the Female UTEP athlete of the year.
